Cookie notice
Last updated: 8 August 2026

This cookie notice describes how noteswiftpro.life uses cookies and similar storage. Read it alongside the privacy notice at /privacy.php. I keep the language direct because cookie banners are annoying enough without extra fog.
What cookies are. Cookies are small text files a site places on your device through your browser. Local storage is a related browser feature that can hold a little data without expiring as quickly. Note Swift uses both sparingly and only for purposes listed here.
Cookie register. The table below lists every first-party cookie this site sets by name.
| Name | Purpose | Category | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
| nsw_consent | Stores your consent decision (accept, reject, or customised categories) for embedded maps and optional preferences | Strictly necessary for the consent mechanism | Up to six months unless cleared sooner |
| nsw_pref | Stores optional reading preference such as text size when you enable Preferences in the cookie panel | Preferences (only if you opt in) | Up to six months unless cleared sooner |
Strictly necessary — nsw_consent. The consent cookie nsw_consent records whether you accepted, rejected, or customised categories. It is first-party — set by noteswiftpro.life, not by advertisers. It exists so the banner does not reappear on every page once you decide. This category is always active because without it the consent system cannot remember your choice. It does not track you across other websites.
Preferences — nsw_pref. If you enable Preferences in the customise panel, the site may store small display choices in nsw_pref — for example, text size selected with the on-page controls. These values stay on your device and are not used for advertising profiles. If you leave Preferences off, defaults apply and nsw_pref is not written.
Embedded content (Google Maps). Several pages include a neighbourhood map loaded from Google Maps in an iframe. Loading the iframe may allow Google to set or read cookies according to Google's policies. I do not control Google's cookie names or lifetimes. If you reject embedded content or disable it in settings, the site shows a placeholder instead of loading the iframe until you opt in.
What I do not use. No analytics cookies. No advertising cookies. No social media pixels. No A/B testing frameworks. No heatmaps. Note Swift is a reading site, not a surveillance product.
How to change your mind. Use Cookie settings in the footer on any page. The panel reopens with your current choices visible. Save to update. You may also clear cookies through your browser settings; the banner will return on your next visit so you can choose again. Deleting nsw_consent resets your consent decision. Deleting nsw_pref resets text size to default.
Browser controls. Most browsers let you block third-party cookies, delete stored data, or browse in private modes. Blocking all cookies may prevent the consent system from remembering your choice — the banner may keep returning, which is inconvenient but safe.
JavaScript disabled. The site remains readable without JavaScript. The banner may not appear; maps stay as placeholders unless you enable scripts. Consent storage depends on JavaScript for the full experience described above.
Relationship to nsw_consent and nsw_pref. These two names are the only first-party cookies Note Swift sets. nsw_consent always participates in the consent banner logic. nsw_pref participates only when you opt into Preferences. Neither cookie identifies you by name, email, or NRIC. They store choices, not profiles.
Examples of what nsw_pref may store. If you select a larger text size using the on-page controls and have allowed Preferences, nsw_pref may hold a value such as large or default. If you later withdraw consent for Preferences, nsw_pref is deleted and the display returns to default on your next visit after you save choices in the panel.
Third-party cookies from Google. When embedded maps load, Google may set cookies or use similar technologies under its own policies. I do not receive copies of those cookies. Blocking embedded content prevents the iframe from loading and avoids that processing until you opt in again.
Consent banner behaviour. Until you choose Accept all, Reject all, or Save on a customised panel, nsw_consent is not written. Rejecting all leaves maps as placeholders and does not write nsw_pref. Accepting all enables maps and allows Preferences if you also tick that category. The footer link Cookie settings reopens the same panel on any page.
Updates. If I add a category — unlikely — I will update this page and ask for consent again before activating it. No silent expansion.
Contact. Questions about cookies: [email protected]. I will answer in plain language.
