Privacy notice
Last updated: 8 August 2026

This privacy notice explains how Note Swift, a personal blog written by Desmond at noteswiftpro.life, handles information when you visit. I wrote it in plain language because notices only work if people can read them without a legal dictionary, and because Singapore's Personal Data Protection Act 2012 (PDPA) matters even for small sites that do not behave like businesses. If anything here is unclear, write to [email protected] and ask. I will answer as plainly as I can.
Who operates this site. Note Swift is operated by me, Desmond, an individual writing from Telok Blangah, Singapore. There is no company behind the blog, no registration number displayed here, and no team page pretending otherwise. Contact: [email protected], +65 6296 4173, Blk 46 Telok Blangah Drive, #07-21, Singapore 100046.
What this site is. A personal blog publishing first-person slips about ordinary life in Telok Blangah and one walk dated 12 November 2025. It is not a shop, not a service, not a newsroom, and not a platform for selling your attention. Nothing here is professional advice of any kind. There is no contact form on any page; correspondence happens only if you choose to email or call me directly.
Personal Data Protection Act. The PDPA governs how organisations collect, use, and disclose personal data in Singapore. While this site is a personal blog rather than a commercial organisation, I treat visitor privacy with the same respect the Act encourages: collect little, explain clearly, keep secure what I do hold, and do not share without reason.
Information I collect. By default, very little. The site does not use analytics scripts, advertising trackers, social login, newsletters, or comment forms. I do not ask you to create an account. Server logs maintained by my hosting provider may record standard technical data — IP address, browser type, pages requested, timestamps — for security and troubleshooting. I do not use those logs to profile visitors or build marketing lists.
Cookies and local storage. Note Swift uses first-party cookies named nsw_consent and nsw_pref as described on the cookies page. The nsw_consent cookie remembers your choice about embedded maps and related categories. The nsw_pref cookie stores an optional reading preference such as text size if you enable preferences in the cookie panel. Until you interact with the banner, no consent cookie is written. Details of names, purposes, and durations are listed in the cookie register at /cookies.php.
Embedded content. Pages include an optional Google Maps iframe showing the Telok Blangah Hill Park area. The map loads only if you accept embedded content in the cookie settings. If you reject it, a placeholder appears instead. Google may process data if you choose to load the map; their policies apply at that point. I do not control Google's processing and do not receive your Google account details.
Email and phone contact. If you email or call me, I receive whatever you choose to send — your address, your words, perhaps your phone number. I use that information only to respond and then keep messages in an ordinary mailbox archive unless you ask me to delete them. I do not sell contact details or add you to marketing lists because there are no marketing lists.
What I do not do. I do not request NRIC numbers, payment card details, or government portal credentials through this site. There are no account registrations, no checkout flows, and no forms that upload documents. If someone contacts you pretending to be this blog asking for such information, it is not me.
Children. This site is written for general readers and is not directed at children. I do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under thirteen. If you believe a child has contacted me in error, write and I will delete the message.
Links. Articles may link to external sites for reference. Those sites have their own policies. I am responsible for my words here, not for what others do elsewhere.
Security. No transmission over the internet is perfectly secure. I choose hosting with reasonable safeguards, keep software updated, and limit what the site asks from you because fewer inputs mean fewer risks. Email is not encrypted end-to-end unless you use tools that do so on your side.
Retention. Consent records persist according to the cookie notice. Email correspondence is kept as long as needed for continuity and then deleted in ordinary housekeeping unless legally required otherwise — an unlikely event for a personal blog.
Your choices. You can reject non-essential cookies via the banner or footer link Cookie settings. You can load the site with JavaScript disabled and still read every slip. You can use email to ask what I hold about you or to request deletion of messages you sent. You may copy static text from pages for personal reference; please do not republish large portions as if you authored them.
PDPC. If you have concerns about personal data protection in Singapore that I cannot resolve directly, you may contact the Personal Data Protection Commission (PDPC) through the channels published on the PDPC website. I hope it does not come to that for a site this small, but the route exists and should be named honestly.
Access and correction. Because I collect almost nothing automatically, there is little for me to retrieve on your behalf. If you emailed me and want a copy or deletion, say so plainly and I will respond. I cannot erase server logs held by the hosting provider; those are outside my direct control, though they rotate on their own schedules.
Transfers. I do not sell this site or its mailing list — there is no list — and I do not transfer personal data to third parties for marketing. The only third party that may process data without my direct handling is Google, if you choose to load maps, under Google's terms.
Complaints. If you believe I have handled personal data poorly, email me first. I will read carefully and fix what is fixable. If you remain unsatisfied, the PDPC route described above remains open to you under Singapore law.
Lawful basis in plain terms. I process email you send because you chose to send it — that is consent in the ordinary sense. I process consent cookie data because without it the banner cannot remember your choice. I do not process data for automated decision-making, profiling, or direct marketing. There is nothing to opt out of except optional map embeds and optional text-size storage.
International visitors. The site is hosted and written from Singapore. If you read from elsewhere, your browser still communicates with a server that may log technical metadata. Read this notice as applying to that interaction regardless of where you sit physically, and contact me if you need clarification in plain language.
Changes. If I update this notice, I will change the date below and keep the substance honest. Continued reading after a change means you accept the revised notice for future visits.
Disclaimer reminder. Everything published here is personal writing — opinions, memories, impressions. It is not medical, legal, financial, or professional advice. Where writing touches a nearby event, I describe only what I experienced from a distance without speculation.

Disclaimer. Note Swift is a personal blog operated by Desmond, an individual in Singapore. All entries, slips, photographs, and page text reflect my personal views, experiences, memories, and impressions at the time of writing. They are offered for reading and reflection only.
Nothing on this site constitutes professional, medical, legal, financial, fitness, counselling, or news-reporting advice. I am not a journalist, clinician, lawyer, or financial adviser, and I do not present myself as one. Do not rely on anything here for decisions that require qualified guidance.
Where writing describes events near 51 Chin Swee Road or elsewhere, I report only what I perceived from a passer-by's distance. I do not claim complete or authoritative knowledge of events I did not witness directly. Personal blogs are allowed to be incomplete; readers should treat them accordingly.
Maps are provided for general neighbourhood orientation via Google Maps embeds subject to your cookie choices. Map data may be inaccurate or outdated; verify independently before travelling.
External links, if present, lead to sites I do not control. I am not responsible for their content, privacy practices, or availability.
Email correspondence is personal and informal. Replies express my opinion, not professional guidance. Do not send sensitive personal data unless you accept the ordinary risks of email.
Content may be revised for clarity or correction. Dates on slips indicate when pieces were written, not guarantees of current conditions at described locations.
By using this site you acknowledge its personal, non-commercial nature and agree that Desmond is not liable for how readers interpret or apply informal writing intended as literary observation rather than instruction.
This choice is not being saved.
